Hi I have had my two piggies Charlie and rumble for a few months now and both came in quite small cages, obviously I've done my research on them and no they need plenty room to run about so I just wanted to show you the indoor run I've had made, it's meant to look like a little garden lol, it was made from clean pallet wood and I'm sanding it down tommorow and painting it with piggie safe paint, I have correx sheets to put in to cover the wood to stop them chewing, I think my gorgeous little piggies will finally be happy to have space to run xIMG-20191010-WA0001.webp

Wow, what a fabulous run, it’s great, I bet your piggies will love it x

They do, it's not finished I've put correx base in, and I've bought two wooden bottle holders to put on, and I'm having two fleece liners made, it needs sanding and painting, I've just been putting them in for a few hrs a day so they can exercise in it, rumble loves it popcorns away all the time lol x

That looks lovely. You are very talented to make that
Lucky piggies.
How big is it?
I have no sense of space so I can’t tell its size.

That looks lovely, nice and sturdy too
Two tiny tweaks I would do if it was mine would be...
1 - have the water bottles further apart (so that one Guinea can't block both bottles from the other)
&
2 - the other would be fill the second bowl with hay & not pellets (hay is more important than pellets & lots of pellets can cause weight&calcium problems).

It must have taken you ages to make it, it looks very professional :tu:
Xx

It looks so lovely!

(I agree with GPTV’s comments - they only need one tablespoon of pellets per pig per day and while it can be difficult to tell quantities from pictures, it does look like there is too many pellets there and definitely increase the amount of hay on offer)

:agr: with the above. I’d also say add another hide. They won’t necessarily want to share the same one. Looks good though 👌🏾

Hi yes I will take your advice on pellets, I fill their hay rack all through the day, thankyou for the advice x

Hi I'm removing the hide as they are jumping on top of it and I'm worried they can jump out little lol I have had fleece liners made so going to buy two fleece hides, I'm new to looking after guinea pigs but I love them x

Thankyou for your comment and advice, I'm new to looking after guinea pigs so I'm just learning, I will take your advice on water bottles and move them further apart and will reduce their pellets as yes think I've been over feeding them, don't want them to be poorly, I'm also taking the wooden hide out as they have started jumping on top of it and I'm worried they will try and jump it lol so I've had fleece liners made and going to purchase two fleece hides x

Thanks for your advice, I'm buying two separate fleece hides as I'm getting fleece liners x

Wow that looks amazing! Bet they'e loving their new run and extra space! :D

So is that just once a day x

Yes, just once a day.
If you were to give pellets twice a day, then you need to halve the portion size. give half a tablespoon of pellets per pig twice a day.
For me, it’s easier to give one tablespoon of pellets per pig once a day (in the morning), and then I give them their veg portion in the evening.
