Today Marla and Charlette got their summer hair cuts. I've never cut piggie's hair this short before. Charlette was pretty calm about it, while she jumped off my lap a few times, she was very patient with me. Marla on the other hand freaked out, and was very stressed poor piggie. By the time her haircut was almost over, she was super squirmy, and instead of a piece of hair, she got a cut on her foot. It bleed a ton but stopped quite quickly when I added some pressure on it with some wet paper towel. I feel perfectly awful, and I'm worried she might get an infection. What should I use to clean her?

Hi there,
You can use saline to clean the wound, if like me you keep a sizeable human 1st aid box and saline capsules, use that with cotton wool to bathe the wound. Alternatively, boil water and mix salt. Make-a-Saline-Solution

As its been a good few hours, keep an eye on the wound, if it feels hot to the touch then antibiotics will be needed but its unlikely.

Thank you! I'm keeping an eye on it, and it is healing very nicely thankfully. It has no heat, or pus, and it's a normal looking scab. I will make some saline solution to wash it with. Should I be washing it for a few days or only once?

I would do it once, otherwise if you keep wetting it the wound won't heal. As it's not hot and appears to be fine, I would actually leave it.
