In the behaviour thread I've been updating about Sherlock and Watson, 2 young boars (about 9 months old).
Long story short, Watson got a nasty cut to his face yesterday. It's not directly on his lip. The cut stopped bleeding ok and has dried over - I've got in from work today and he has a fairly swollen lip on the side where the cut was. He's eating ok, but hasn't drunk much (that could be normal). I'm guessing it's just a bit swollen due to the knock to his face.
Sherlock has had a few cuts to his face but they've healed fine, but they didn't look as bad as this.
Is it ok to monitor for the next day or 2, or should I take him straight to the vet? I suspect they'd put him on antibiotics, but I've never had much luck with them with Guinea Pigs.
Thanks.
