Has anyone ordered one of these? I tried to and got an email confirmation but I haven't paid (there was no option) and I haven't heard any more?
 
I know loads of people with these houses, and can confirm that they are a reputable website. O0
However, I have no idea about orders from the UK - all my friends still live in Germany! So I can really give you any details as to how slow delivery etc. might be to where you live :-\
 
lmao, I just read through the babelfish translation ;D

they are talking about the available types of wood at one point, and yes, "Kiefer" can mean "jaw" (as in the body part), but it is also a type of tree, which would be "pine". ^_^

You can get our wooden creations with the wood left bare and natural, but you can also order every house varnished. The varnished versions are available in the coulors "pine" or "hazel".
The varnish we use is by Genius Pro, labelled with the blue environmental angel, which means it is not harmful to humans and animals. It is suitable for indoor- and outdoor-use, (it then goes into technical terms as to how it lets the wood breath blabla), and ist photostable* and weatherproof.

*= is photostable the right word? meaning it will last even if it has to endure direct sunlight at all times?
 
oh, and also be aware that they do 2 different types of houses - with floor, and without. I personally would always go with no floor, as its just less mess, but anyway...

What you have to look out for is "mit Bodenplatte" which means it does have a floor.
 
OOO i could go totally bonkers in my back garden with this! and have the entire garden as a small town with a castle or two!

I have just had a look and i want one but cant make head nor tail of the site and how much would postage be from england and can anyone tell me how much 22 euros are 98)
 
Has anybody got a house from there in the meantime? Just wondering about postage costs and delivery time, because I think my old houses are ready to be chucked out (unsightly peestains)

On a different note, would rescues like to take old houses in, even if they are a bit stained, if they are otherwise in good working order? Or do they prefer new ones?

I did manage to get a price for shipping in the end. For one house which was 28.70 Euro shipping was going to be 24 Euro so I didn't go ahead.

I'm sure for that money I can find something in the UK ?

The people in Germany were very nice although it took a while for them to get back to me. Their English is about the same as my German! but with the help of Babelfish we managed to communicate!

I would be very interested to hear if anyone in the UK did get one of these though.

On the 15.05.08 Uwe Miersch has put a note on the website, saying that he has to close the business for about 2.5 months because of the extra-ordinary amount of orders he had. He does the houses all by hand and not mass-production, so that will take a while for him to do all the orders. He'll be online again afterwards.

Thanks Abnoba for translating the text .... babelfish and google just don't give the translations correctly. It'll do if you are desperate for some sort of translation but unfortunately there are many mistakes due to the double nature of those words.

Hope the ones of you who ordered will get the houses soon and the ones who haven't ordered yet - maybe you could write it in the "wishlist" for Birthday or Christmas and get someone to buy them for you. The postage prices are not cheap!
 
My friend has family in Germany and is going to pick some up from him, I hope she has preordered them!

just be aware this currency converter isnt that accurate for us people buyinf it from the shops - its hard to explain, but basically we get it less than what this says, so this may make it look fantastic but when you go to your local PO or M&S it wont be such a good rate.
 
If anyone on the forum has special carpentry skills and could make these, they would make a fortune, they are gorgeous. Any offers?
 
omg they are sooo cute! i ahve seen in the pet shop i go to a little painted house that is lovely and I'm thinking of getting my piggies for xmas but its not as fancy as those
