image.webp image.webp Hi. I'm looking for a bit of advice, we rescued a piggie in December last year. At the time he was young and I was told he was a short haired guinea pig. It turns out he's not!

He's very skittish and won't sit still for long. I've tried to trim but he gets distressed so it's just not possible.

I've found a few places near me (Birmingham, UK) but I can't seem to find anyone that will help.

Does anyone have any tips on how to calm him down and trim him? I don't want him to get into a mess.

I've attached a pic of Roo.

Thanks

I would do a little and often with food as a distraction that's how we used to do our long haired girl.

It is a matter of the more regular you do it, the more he will get used to it. If you can get somebody else to cuddle and distract him while you cut the bum and sides, that can also help. Otherwise, distraction with food is useful, too.

I also find it helpful to go into a room they are not familiar with mine. It is also a lot easier to sweep the kitchen floor after I've worked my way through my peru family...
