So one of my guineapigs has extremely bushy coarse hair that is very matted near her butt gets covered in poo and matts .
Iv tried scissors but she is very very scared I had her as a rescue but she will literally scream . So using scissors is no way a option Ifear cutting her would be an easy thing to do plus not getting an even cut . So I'm thinking shavers might be better for getting an even cut and to minimize contact with a sharp blade?
Opinions?

Hi, I too used to have a piggy who absolutely hated being her hair brushed or trimmed. She was long haired smooth.

Firstly, I wouldn't use pointed sisters as with movement it has the potential to cause a nasty accident/injury.
I've used a shaver too and that seemed a little better, in time she got a little better, however her sensitivity was always high and this was because of her constant fight with mites. I would have good look at your piggies fur to see if she has an issue and it's causing her to be over sensitive and treat accordingly.

Yes the matted hair needs removing but keeping her butt hair short is the key for sure. Regular grooming and treats of her favourite food as a bribe to stay still while she's having her shampoo & set!.

She needs a bum bath My Betsy has a bum bath. I wrap Betsy's head and body up in a towel and leave her bum and back legs exposed and was het bum. Bring wrapped in the towel helps to keep her calm.
