my piggy has long hair down his back and bum. he is just under a year old and it has never stopped growing. how often should i cut his hair? it is a bit matted at mo but when i bath him i comb it all. how does everyone else cut it? I'm frightened he might get scared although he doesnt mind his nails clipped. ta x :)

He needs to have it combed ideally daily, so it does not get matted in the first place. Matted hair pulls on the skin and can hurt. I prefer to cut my longhaired piggies' hair short at the back end.

When cutting, hold the long hair loosely between middle finger and index, so you will never cut into the piggy's skin even if he squirms suddenly. Never pull on hair and use sharp haircutting scissors.
