I decided to bath some of my guinea pigs and cut some of the long haired piggies.i start meaning to cut a short amount ,and next they look like shaun the sheep!does anyone else find it difficult to just estimate a small amount of hair being cut off !:yikes:

Yes :flag:
I've had better luck just trimming my furriest one on a regular bases is the best way to stop it getting tangled and nasty.

Hahaha I was saying to Wiebke the other day that I get scissor happy while cutting effie. Poor pig looks like she's been cut with kitchen scissors

Oh my gosh yes! My poor chewy had quite a hair cut on his bum even the hubby commented how short it was ;) but at least it will be a longer gap till his next haircut :D

Love Timmy so much

I used to have a long haired girl and although she was an angel at having her hair trimmed, I was always nervous doing it, so she usually ended up with a very short back and sides!

She eventually fell out badly with her cage mate and ended up living with my MIL, who would spend hours doing a gorgeous job with her hair - put me to shame really :mal:

My friend bought me some proper pet clippers which makes life a lot easier for me and the piggies!

I've got little battery operated clippers that I clip my bunny's face with. She has horrendous fur and quite literally can't see if I don't keep her clipped on her head. They're pretty quiet and she just sits there as good as gold letting me do it.

Yes, just like human ones but for animals. They are great and have different sized guards depending on how short you want the hair.
I have some for my dog but I've never thought to use them on Effie. Does it not scare them? She's a nightmare to cut her fur with scissors as she really doesn't like it

I think it depends on the piggy. Timmy is used to me messing around and the clippers are very quiet.

Thats an excellent idea,i will invest in some of these.ive a swiss boy that i decided to trim, but got carried away,do now i have to give him an all over cut ,otherwise he looks like he has had an electric shock !x
