So, I have a bit of a dilemma. I just got a baby guinea pig about a week ago and her nails need clipping. I have seen a lot of things that say not to take your new guinea pig out of cage in the first few weeks, but I've also read that guinea pigs don't like having long nails and it might even be painful.
What do I do?

You can time it so you do a weigh-in and health check then you can also trim your nails. How old is she and does she live alone?

She is still a baby and she lives with my other guinea pig (2 years old).

You can trim off the tip at the end. If she’s very young they shouldn’t need much trimming yet I would expect.

You only start trimming once the baby nails really start growing out, which can happen at very different ages. Only cut off the first millimetre at the very tip once it is safe to. Leave a little margin in case the baby suddenly pulls back the paw.
You can desensitise them a bit and get them used to having their feet manipulated by fondling their feet during the life long weekly weigh-in and body check health monitoring or with any cuddle you give her.
