Hi guys the boys are approaching 14 weeks old now, iv noticed their nails are growing a little, when will they need a trim and how often? i am thinking of taking them to the vets as i dont want to butcher them haha
It's not too hard to cut their nails yourself if your guinea pigs are friendly and you have patience (and maybe a second person to help).
I didn't cut my piggies nails til they were about six months old I'd say, they weren't too long before that.
Just make sure not to cut them too short and hit the vein inside them. I only barely cut the tips of their nails anyway to blunt them a bit.
