Hi, just wondering if its an easy enough job to do, or how to do it? I dont think it warrants a vets visit just for that, but her nails are a little long and one broke off... now they look uneven, I'm sure a manacure would be just what she needs

Hi and welcome!

I am attaching a link to our nail cutting guide which contains a demo video from a very experienced rescue lady.
Guide to Cutting Guinea Pig Nails

If you are feeling unsure, it has helped a number of new owner members to book an appointment with a vet nurse so they can show you exactly how to go about it. This kind of service is usually pretty cheap as it is not a formal vet appointment. Nail cutting is to a large extent a matter of practice and what works for you, but there is nothing wrong with starting out with some real life tutoring!

I have to say I hate nail cutting, always scared I will catch the quick. I bought a styptic pencil to stem the bleeding should it occur, works really well.

Nail cutting is tough and stressful with my pigs. It gets easier the more practice I have, but Casper especially hates her toes being messed with. I find taking breaks and rewarding them with veggies or treats makes the experience more pleasant for them and less scary.
