cuy piggies

hello,

i just joined the hairless guineapig forum because i like learning new things about piggies and they have a whole section for cuy guineapigs. i had never heard of them before and they are massive!

has anyone on here ever heard of them.

apparenly they can grow up to 3kg! they were bred in peru for the table, but they are also kept as pets.

they sound amazing!

I've seen two in real life. But hate been picked up or any human contact. So i don't think their ideal pets. They look sooo cuddly though!

i read that they took a long time to be won over. i just wonder what there squeak is like. do you think it would sound more like a roar because they are so big?! p

Gives you an idea of the difference in size. They are bred for food same as we eat other meats but a piggy is not on my menu for sure

Ahh, I hadnt heard of them either. Not really going to order cuy any time soon though.
