I have just got back from the vets again with Fraggle. The Baytril appears to have had little effect and has proved very difficult to get her to take.

I managed to talk the vet into prescribing Septrin which Fraggle seems to like so hopefully we will have more success with this.

She is also going to be x-rayed tomorrow to check for stones. I have asked the vet to try first without sedating her so hopefully she will be on her best behaviour!

I'm so sorry to hear that things have not gone so well for you. I'll keep my fingers crossed for Fraggle tomorrow!

Baytril tastes awful; it's always a struggle to get it in. So I'm pleased for you that you can get septrin. Have you got some painkiller and prebiotic as well?

Thankfully, Llewelyn does NOT have a stone (as of today) and is getting better on baytril.

Keep us posted!

Hi!

Thinking of Fraggle and you, and hoping that all goes well.

Fingers crossed!

Vicky

It must be something in the air this week, another piggy poorly! say no to sedation! fingers and toes crossed for fraggle x

Fraggle true to form was not on her best behaviour :)) so after failing to get an x-ray without sedation she was put under. The good news is there is no sign of a stone.

Will be continuing with the Septrin and cranberry juice for the time being and hoping things clear up. She is still eating well and doesn't appear to bothered by her days adventures.

Thanks to everyone for your support

Well done you for putting your foot down re: the Septrin! If no improvement soon then an anti-inflammatory may be of benefit. Rimadyl is a good drug used in conjunction with Septrin at treating cystitis.

I'm so glad for you that there is no stone! That must be a big stone off your heart as well!

Give my best to Fraggle. I hope that she'll recover as well as Llewelyn is doing right now. My Dizzy is busy licking all the spills off his face after each round - it's so cute!

I'm going to ask the most apporachable vet to look into septrin the next time I see her; this time round I was too grateful that the vet on duty took time off his lunch break to see Llewelyn immediately on Good Friday. Septrin wasn't on their books, though he said it rang a faint bell with him. Apart from the baytril he did everything right and was very careful with Llewelyn.

Best luck to you two.

Vicky
