Sometimes I don't think I should be allowed to leave my bed... In two days, I've snapped the spout off two of the large Ferplast Sippy bottles -- once by tripping over a bottle and dislodging it, and once by dropping a bottle from waist-height :mal: I feel quite lucky that I can get these bottles for half-price at my local farm supply store!

Can anyone suggest slightly more robust *ahem* sippy-type bottles (i.e. not the ball-type)? These are the fourth of these bottles I've broken overall, they just can't handle my clumsiness!

Does anyone else have daft pig-related moments to share so I don't feel quite as bad?

Oh these are not the noisy ball type? are they also the type that fill from the top? I am curious now as the noisy ball type get on my nerves a bit late at night sometimes.

Oh and daft moment, almost pouring milk on a bowl of veggies instead of my muesli right beside it....early mornings!

No, they have a little piece of metal that can be pushed up and water flows out -- much less susceptible to clogging with pig mouth gunk, mine always seem to keep the water flowing. For me they are easier to fill too, though it can a balancing act as they are not watertight by any means so you can't put the lid on and flip them upside down!

Theoretically they are quieter than the ball-type, but I've found they are still quite audible and can be very noisy if a pig learns to drink from them by shaking the spout (it's designed that they just press their tongue or mouth against it and water comes out, but a few pigs have never figured it out to be that easy ).

Daft moments are my purpose in life, lol. When I first got the boys and they refused to drink from a bottle, it seriously never occurred to me that I could put down a bowl. It should have done, but nope.

I was gathering a mound of hay to throw out, as the piggies had gone back to their cage from the play pen. I thought that the mound was heavy for hay and found a little foot sticking out at the bottom.

I had not counted how many piggies I had put back in to the cage and obviously forgot one, and I was going to throw out little Fudge with the used hay!

I put newspaper under the vetbed. Today I put a pile of fresh paper on the floor next to the cage ready for a clean out. Swaped the wet paper for dry took the paper outside to go in the bin, when I came back in the wet paper was still on the floor. I'd thrown away the surplus dry!
I dropped one of the plastic Crystal bottles and the bottom split clean off. I'd just filled it so there was a lovely mess on the floor.

I broke my hamsters water bottle the other day. The metal spout came out. Luckily I keep spare bottles.

Also I was cleaning the pigs hay end of their cage. And put the rubbish bag into the cage to fill it up. (I use a litter tray to skip out the dirty bedding) lifted the rubbish bag up to put it out and there was no bottom on the bag! Dumping the full lot of dirty bedding back into the cage! Then.............peanut decided to jump and popcorn right in the middle of the pile of dirty bedding. Ha ha ha.
I'm just glad I never had the bag on the floor to fill.

I also have gone to pour milk on the piggies morning veggies.

I had two incidents today. Over night the water bottle slipped and soaked a load of bedding. I thought I'd fixed it after I knocked it out of place last night but apparently I hadn't. Then while doing their food I went to sit down next to their cage, slipped, and tipped their nice fresh veggies everywhere. Ruby and Luna spent this morning sulking after all that messing with their routine.
