What is a usual daily food routine for Piggies? I really know nothing about the food they eat x
Please could you write quantities as well.
Thank you :)

Guinea pigs need a diet which is 80% hay. It should be unlimited as they must never run out. Twice a day you can feed a handful of vegetables. They can have a cup of pellets a day.

A cup of veg a day is recommended per pig.Unlimited pellets for babies up to 6 months and alfalfa hay till 6 months them Timothy hay.At least one veg item high in vitamin c per day as they can't make their own.Good sources of vit c Ares peppers, parsley and broccoli. Not too many carrots as high I'm sugar and lows in vitamin c.There is a thread on diet on here somewhere. No iceberg lettuce as can give them the runs. Mine get celery, cucumber, lettuce, odd carrots, broccoli, Apple now and then, tomato now and then, odd grapes, green beans, baby sweetcorn.Hope this helps

Just like Rabbits, is any hay fine for them, or do they only eat special food hay?
1 cup of veg is quite a lot! Is there any specific foods high in vitamin c that are ok for them?
Thank you! x

You can Google a list of suitable vegetables. Alfalfa hay is not for adults but any other good quality hay is fine.

I have 3 pigs and they get a lot of fresh food .
I don´t know how much, because i give them so much they want,
but i think they eat 250g-300g fresh veggies per pig daily.
Maybe sometimes more, but they have all time enough in their bowls(?)

And they like to have piles of their hay, so that can eat and sleep inside after that.
I put 1-2 times per day new hay on top und take the old every 2-3 days out.

I was really surprised at the amount of fresh veg they need per day.I look for cheap veg all the time but even my neighbours now save veg for me
