So I've read through some of the stickies on Food, but I was wondering if any of you guys know websites or just have it handy in your head about a list of daily veggies(and fruits) to give piggies and also the portions for each pig (moderation, 1 leaf per week, high in sugar, high in vitamin C, etc.) That would be great for me! drool I want to print something out so I can use it every time I make the daily salad for my guineas :))

And also, if you feed them a regular sized tomato, do you have to remove the seeds? Or is it just OK to give them a wedge?

And, once again, yet another question: if you don't want to buy commercialized treats, are raisins a good option (even though they contain pretty much no vitamins)? <-- How often is okay to treat them with raisins?

Thank you all in advanced :)

Hi there,

See the thread below, there's a diet sheet in their and it's really good because it will help with a balanced diet. From memory, but you will have to check I think it's 50grams per pig per day and of course if you use the diet sheet that will help. Mine don't have treats, they have some high quality timothy hay instea of their usual as their treats.:))

Re the toms, yes remove the seeds, and leave in chunks is my advice, they'll gobble them up....well mine do!drool

I've never given my raisins so I wouldn't know, Lthough the reality is that they are dried grapes and grapes are fine. Still not sure though.

Thanks guys for your replies :) Just came up with another question whilst researching veggies and portions. I heard that guinea pigs can be fed any type of leafy lettuce as long as it's not iceburg. Is this true?!?

We have fed romaine, little gem, and Duet (this is their favorite)
