On Easter 2010, my Guinea Pig, Dale had suddenly fallen ill, no reason why since my other Guinea Pig at the time, Chip (just had castration, falling weak) was his usual healthy self.
We took him to the vet immediately and she said to give him lots of food and hope for recovery since it was difficult to determine with Guinea Pigs since they're quite 'weak' creatures.
My Dad fed him every day with a syringe, he was eating but his condition was falling worse every day.
The night he died (a week later) we knew he would die if not tonight, the next morning (to be put down). I held him and he was so limp, it was difficult to determine if he was even alive (which he was). When he was his strong self, I used to put him and Chip on the tunnel and they'd jump off; in a kind of denial that he would die, I put him on the tunnel - he didn't jump, he slid off into a crumpled heap (more just fell down).
I couldn't sleep that night and my dad told me the next day he died in his arms at around 11 o'clock.
