don't know, maybe it's something to do with genetics, are you sure it isn't family members can't breed together because surely you'd want to breed purebreds, don't know i'm not hot on these kind of things. trying to learn though! : (by the way i'm not saying you're silly or anything, just wondering).
I don't know the ins and outs of the genetics but there is a chance that they will produce Micro Opthalmic young (think thats how you spell it). Its not a 100% certainty. Dalmations are generally bred to Selfs or sometimes Agoutis. Same also applies to breeding Roans together. Pimms Pages has an excellent thread on this by Malibu Stud. yes karen you hit the nail on the head, you breed a dal to a self, you then hopefully get a dalmation, that' s why there so 'rare' you cant guarentee you will get a dalmation litter , even when using a dalmation carrier, & def dont breed dal to dal :o i have 2 dalmation rex 0
