Dandelion salad

Just have a quick check of the full ingredients, but it looks to be a forage bag, so as a treat it should be ok. Confirm the ingredients though

Yes, that would help wouldn’t it? 😊

I would pick out the leaves, they are fine as a treat. Throw away the seeds and oat bits.

Hi. I know this is an old post but I’ve given this to my piggies and was looking to get them some more. But reading your comment I’m not sure whether to or not now. Is there any other type you could recommend please.

I buy forage from Piggie Parcels (business run by a member of this forum). Lots of really lovely dried forage leaves (and other treat items such as carrot and apple) and all perfectly safe

I second this post, my boys love piggie parcels and there’s a lot of variety for even the pickiest of piggies :) x

If it is exactly the same thing as the OP posted with the same ingredients then it isn’t an ideal. It contains maize and alfalfa which they shouldn’t eat

I’m not too sure these are the stuff I got are these okay to use please with someone let me know 🤍IMG_5265.webpIMG_5264.webpIMG_5263.webp

I wouldn’t feed them - they contain alfalfa, wheat, popped wheat, maize. These things should not be given to guinea pigs.
The second item mentions it being given to chinchillas.

The dried carrot can be given but only as a very occasional treat. It is very high in sugar so don’t give that often and don’t give much at a time - no more than a small pinch and no more than once a week (I’d given it even less often than that, perhaps only once a month at most).

Thank you 😊 so much am new here so don’t know what’s good and what’s not am not sure if this has posted I’ve currently got this hanging in there cage so I want to make sure if not I’ll take it out

That one is ok.

Don’t use the hanging sticks with seeds and honey. They are not safe or suitable for guinea pigs.

You should ideally avoid anything which contains alfalfa and wheat.

Piggie Parcels is a small business run by a member of this forum.
She sells bags of only safe and suitable forage. I can highly recommend them.
I only give my four piggies pellets 2-3 times a day, so they get dried forage on the rest of the days. I give them a pinch of a variety of items.

Thank you very much honestly and yes course I would love to give them nice and safe stuff so only the carrots as treats would u say like every other Friday give them one each and I haven’t got a a routine yet I’ve done research but they have pellets once a day which says 1/8 cups and veg everyday and I have a large box with loads of Timothy hay is this right and fresh water upstairs and downstairs 🤍

I’ve created a new thread for you with your other post so everything is easier to understand. It is in the new owners section. It explains feeding more fully.
1/8 of a cup of pellets is far too much per piggy. It is just one tablespoon per pig per day.
Only give treats once a week

Do ask any more questions regarding generally ownership that new thread rather than on this one so that we can keep to topic.
