Today I was very surprised when I picked up one of my piggies and felt something hard on my arm. I lifted him up to see his belly and saw what looked to be a dandelion stalk hanging out of his butt. I gently pulled it out, it was about half an inch long. My poor little bubbas! I think they were eating dandelions during their floor time yesterday, but I didn't know this could happen. Obviously, I'm alarmed that it could hurt him. Any insights on this?

All parts of a dandelion, including roots are edible for guinea. It may be rather an issue with too much fresh food on an unprepared gut.

if you think there is a mild digestive problem, please take your piggy off any fresh food for a day or two until things have settled down again.

Okay, thank you. I'll keep an eye on him today and see how he is. We've had him about two months and it was the first time he's had dandelion. I may spoil my babies a bit, so i'll keep the veg down for a bit.

Introduce any new food in a very small quantities at first and then gradually build up the quantity to allow the gut to get used to it first.
