will i be alright giving annie and archie some dandelions from outside also what does anyone think of ready grass

Dandillion leaves are ok. :) Not sure about the flowers, anyone know? Wash them of course and just be careful no cats, birds or sprays have come in contact!

Mine love Dandillion!

I too am not sure about the flowers.

I do remember however that older piggies shouldn't have too many dandelion leaves as they are high in something - oxalaic acid or clacium?

Mine adore dandelions!

At first we gave them dandilions with the heads and they never touched them. Now we don't bother giving them any.

I have read that the entire dandelion (flower, stalk, and leaves) is OK for guinea pigs and in my experience they have never been turned down.

I have actually just ordered some seeds from Pampered Piggies and am going to grow my own dandelions as I don't have any grass in my garden! My hubby thinks I'm loopy! ;D

In the shopping list thread ..it says they can have stem, leaves, flowers and even the root :P ;D ;D

mine dont normally eat the flowers when they play out on the lawn, but i think either lola or dixie has eaten one or tqo of the yellow heads before and wasnt ill from it.. usually the leaves and grass tempt them more :)

The whole flower and leaves are fine for guinea pigs.

Be careful not to give too manyt though - they are diuretic and will have your piggies weeing all day!

There are yellow bits in the herbage so I suspect they are dandilion flower. :)
