Hey,
In the next couple pf weeks i will be getting my currently lone pig a rescue friend (the same age as her). I've found the perfect little piggie (Mrs Nibblesworth) online at the RSPCA however it says that she has a condition called impaction (which apparently means she will need help clearing her anal sack daily). Does anyone know any info on this ? Would the pig have an early death or be difficult to look after? Thanks a bunch

@BellaBoo07 Have they told you why she has impaction? It's not a normal thing to happen to a female so I'd be inclined to ask what is/has caused it.

As above it does happen sometimes to older boars and it's not life threatening, but does need daily assistance.

I have had a couple of older boars with intermittent impaction - you can help it with diet and exercise and regular management. it is smelly rather than dangerous! Not heard of it in sows?
