Dark red spot on guinea pigs belly

We have noticed a dark red/black ish skin tag like on our guinea pigs belly. We had a little look and when we ever so slightly touched it our guinea pig made a squeak sound to to almost tell us it hurts

Any idea what it could be and I’d a vet visit recommended ?
 
It looks like a nipple to me. Male piggies have them as well as female piggies. There will be one on the other side too.
 
Hello and welcome to the forum. Do they have one on the other side. My first thought was it’s a nipple.

Nipples can vary in colour depending on the skin markings but they should be the same size and form. Boars also have got two nipples that are the same size and shape as that of sows.
