Is it ok if they sleep in the dark, or do then need a light at all times?

No, it's fine for it to be dark at night. It's probably good for them actually, it's natural.

My lights go out when I tuck them up at night, xx

yeh we switch off all lights and thats when they come to life lol - we have pretended to go to bed turned the light of and shut the door but still been in the room and they start chattering away hehe then we put the light on and the looks on their faces sometimes is priceless
