Well I have 2 piggies called Dave and Yorkie, and I originally got Dave and wasn't advised by anyone to get a friend for him. I soon realised he needed a companion so we got Yorkie.
Dave has been handled a lot more than Yorkie because when he first arrived we held him all the time. However, Dave was very shy right from the beginning, and has always hated being held. Yorkie is very tame and has always come to the hutch door whenever he hears me coming (as he knows there will be food!). Yorkie loves his food, he a little chubby but not overweight (yet!)... but Dave has never come to the door. He'd hide in his little wooden house and watch me until i went, then come out.
Well... it all started last week when he realised Yorkie was stealing the best bits (this has only taken him about 8 months to realise) and today he was stood at the edge of the hutch next to Yorkie, and pushed Yorkie out of the way to get the food from me!
He's getting there is the little lad. I'm proud of him!
