Hey all, just after some advice, a local rescue bonded my 3yr old boar worry another 3yr old boar. They are currently in their large cage with 2 of everything but they've both taken sides to their own cages and seem to be ignoring each other completely. I got them out to run around my bedroom last night and they were full on rumblestrutting and nosing off, they even had a tussle that resulted in the new piggie losing a tidy of fluff (but no blood).
So my questions are- should I be getting them out or leaving them in their cage until they're more settled?
Also- is there a chance they could live ignoring each other forever... My boars weren't close but when I fed them veggies they would sit next to each other, these two won't go near each other in their cage.
My existing pig is definitely top pig. He ignores his new friend who walks around rumblestrutting unless he gets too close to him, then he chases him off...

I would leave them in their cage until they have been together a little bit longer and are a little bit more settled. A new environment, such as being out of the cage, can cause them to re-establish and that could be why you are seeing the rumbling out of the cage. They will probably still do it even once they are more settled, but bonding doesn’t finish as soon as they moved into their new home together - it can continue for many weeks.
Ignoring each other isn’t necessarily a problem in itself - my boars don’t sit together. When you need to take action is if they do start fighting.
I would keep a close on eye on how things are progressing though.
