Dead guinea pig in pet shop ='[

I was soo upset today when i went into a petshop, i was happily looking at some cute g'pigs and rabbits when i saw a g'pig laying flat down, i just stared at it to see if i could see it breathing, then another 2 piggies were treading on it with their front feet, Then i could see it was definatley dead! 8... I told the petshop worker straight away.."err you have a DEAD guinea pig in there" and she was like.."oh, it was fine a minute ago!" she then called the shop owner who was out the back, he came and sorted it out.
I was so upset and felt like i was going to cry 8... 8...

Poor little mite probably had a genetic problem. A similar thing happened to me when I saw a hamster that had gotten stuck in its water bottle holder. All you could see was the legs! This was the same shop that I got Sunshine from. I've not been back since! :(

aw, iam sorry I'm sure that is not a nice thing for you to see.

The little one is at rest now though. x

Oh that's awful. RIP little one.

I wonder if the piggie was really 'alright a minute ago' or it was just the pet shop worker's excuse to cover the embaressment and it's really been there dead for like 4 hours! grrrr
Or i wonder if when the other two piggies were treading on it whether they'd beat it too death!?:^-8...

The other piggies were most likely trying to revive the piggy as they would in the wild. If you are laid down you are fair game to all predators :)
 
I believe the piggies treading on it were not responsible for him/hers death, as they were only young, plus the dead piggy had no sores on it. It must have died from another cause.
Cookie22, Thats exactly my thoughts when she said "ohh it was fine a minute ago", , i think they were expecting it to die, as she said to the owner "the guinea pig has died"..but WHY didnt they put it in another cage out the back to keep an eye on it, INSTEAD of leaving it in the shop for customers to see! grrr make me so angry! poor little piggy! :0 irresponsible stupid pet shop!
