I live in Scampton village, famous for the Dambust
My Husband Nolan found losing our bunny Snoopy a terrible loss, he wouldnt/couldn't have anything to do with burying her or a memorial. He wouldn't talk about her for months, we eventually got Lucy bunny who we lost also which was terribly sad.
Our bunny Teddy has been on his own for around a year and I have tried to get Nolan to consider getting him a friend for a while now but to no avail.
I have shown him loads of bunnies on here that need homes and also on the R.S.P.C.A. website.
I think it has just been too hard for him to consider getting another bunny in case we lose it.
Anyway, I ran out of oxbow hay today and delivery isn't coming until Monday, so Nolan went to Pets at Home to get a bag of Alfalfa King Hay - We haven't been in Pets at Home for months.............
and he came home with Tessa bunny, she's huge and a big softy x)
she was a house rabbit in the adoption bit that apparently the children were scared of :{ She is spayed and is 11 months old :)
Sometimes it takes a spur of the moment thing like this to happen to make a decision for you.

She's already made herself at home :)) Teddy is being a bit nervous of her. We are going to take them on a couple of "back seat of the car" dates to help them bond. They have the free run of the house, Tessa has been up and down the stairs already and charging in and out of the house and round the garden, she's nudging my feet and coming for lots of cuddles :)

OH MY! She's absolutely gorgeous. I can see why your husband took to her.

Scared of her? Seriously some kids rolleyes How could they possibly be scared of such a little sweetheart?

What a beautiful story. Brought tears to my eyes. The grief upon losing a pet is overwhelming and one which only another pet owner could truly understand. When I lost my dog I was devestated. The whole family were. Its the only time Ive ever seen my dad cry. We never got another dog as my mum said she couldnt go through the grief again. I suppose its a situation where you have to be able to weigh up whether the joy of sharing your life with a four legged furry friend outweighs that of the loss you feel when they depart for the bridge. I'm so happy you have given this bunny a home. I cant wait to hear more about your new arrival.

AWWW - it just needed the right bunny for your hubby to come round! I wish Teddy and Tessa lots of happy times together; they make a gorgeous pair!

When i lost 2 rabbits in the space of a few days i vowed never to get small animals again as its so upsetting when they die... i now have 2 beautiful guinea pigs. They bring me such happiness, i just love wathcing them play.
I try to remember all the good times i shared with my rabbits and try to treasure the time i have with my pets i have now.
Your story was very touching and i can relate to it alot. I still cry when i think of my babies in heaven but then remember they are out of pain.

Well it's ended up lucky for this bunny that your husband wasn't ready before. Best wishes for the bunny bonding. x

She's a doll fate is a beautiful thing, he obviously felt ready.

She is gorgeous, and it was obviously the right time and the right bunny for your husband. I'm so pleased for all of you.

Grief is such a personal thing & we all deal with it in our own way. Sometimes fate deals a hand ...........

Tessa bun is beautiful; she & Teddy make a lovely couple x)

Tessa is beautiful x) you can never tell when a special little one will steal your heart xx

She's been binkying loads :(|) she jumps so high, she's like a spring lamb :(|) Teddy has gone to bed rolleyes Car ride tomorrow - It works wonders for bonding :) There has been no fighting, just everytime Tessa want's to play with Teddy he has ran off rolleyes She is a beautiful affectionate bunny, she keeps jumping on the settee for cuddles x)

Tessa binkying has really made us laugh :(|) first time I have seen my husband laugh in months 8... He's had such a stressfull time with bereavement losing Teddy and losing his father in November last year. I think that he needed to see Teddy more settled with a bunny wife :)

Bunnies binkying and piggies popcorning. Isnt it amazing how such little things can just lift your spirits.

I'm so glad your hubby and Tessa have found each other - she is a very beautiful girlie. Hope the bonding goes well.:)

I meant losing Snoopy :) not Teddy :) think I had too much wine last night :))
I didn't get much sleep last night @) They were racing around the bedroom last night like racehorses :)) Teddy is a bit more braver today going up to her for kisses. She dosen't like the hoover, mind you Teddy dosen't either. She has enormous poops, twice the size of Teddy's.

Both bunnies are gorgeous and thanks for sharing such a lovely story best of luck in the bonding process

Teddy and Tessa have bonded so quickly :) They have been cleaning each other and laying next to each other today x) x)
Tessa has been following me everywhere :) got the piggies food out the cupboard today to put in their bowls and turned around to see she had jumped in the kitchen cupboard :)) She's just gorgeous, they have been running around binkying in the garden, really heartwarming :) Although I think she will take a while to settle at bedtime, Teddy always sleeps all night on our bed or under it, but they were both racing around last night and up and down the stairs, got hardly any sleep @)

AWWW - so great! You and your hubby must be so chuffed ( at least at daytime!) :))
