We had two Guinea pigs and the got out of there cage and one was attacked by a dog. Chip got a broken neck and broken arm. Dale is who am concerned about. We had to put chip down due to lack of breathing. Will dale experience trauma? Does he need to see the body? Should we get him a new brother?

I’m so sorry for your loss. He will go through a grieving process, if chip had died at home it would be good for him to see the body but since he had to be put down at the vet (I assume) that makes it hard. Your piggie will be happier with a companion when you are ready to get one.

I am very sorry; please make sure that the dog can never get at any guinea pigs again. Ensure that your cage is both piggy escape and dog proof, and that the two species are never in the same room again. Unfortunately, the attack always comes as a massive shock because it is so quick.

If you haven't brought the body home, I wouldn't show it. Dale will know that Chip has died; he will be upset anyway.
Please give Dale time to grieve first unless he stops eating and drinking; the ideal time for a new friend is between 1-4 weeks after the loss. Do your research but respect if any rescues may not want to rehome to a place that is not safe after having got a number of their own piggies out of bad places.
