Ok so my animals have just been moved to my spare room upstairs and my Dyson is very heavy. I like to hoover my living room daily and also really need to hoover hay spill daily in their room. My hoover is so heavy and awkward its hard carrying it up and down the stairs.

Does anyone have a good small or light weight hoover which will pick up hay? I have a dust buster but it's rubbish and 5 years old so it doesn't work

I use Asda's own brand pet hoover for upstairs, and it copes with hay and guinea pig food spills etc and I have a heavy duty bagless upright downstairs (like a Dyson). But I have a labrador and he sheds hair like crazy, so I go through the cheap vacuum cleaners fairly quickly, about one every year!

Thanks I will look up the ASDA one. It'll be so much easier having an upstairs and downstairs hoover

Why not try the DC44 Animal Cordless - it's a handheld really light and very powerful. The problems I find with cheap hoovers is the motors don't last and tend to burn out.
