Hi
We have just moved and we have the pigs in the front room
However there is a bit of decorating work to be done
A few holes in walls need plastering over , then these patches may need a lick of paint. Ideally I’d rather not paint the whole room if I can find the same colour. There are also a couple of wallpaper feature walls in alcoves that I’d like to change the wallpaper on
Will they be ok in the room during this or will they need to be moved out? With such a large cage just thinking logistics!

Hello sounds like lots of fun 😂
I’d move them out - it’ll be easier to work without them and any noise or smells they are free from
Best paint for no VOCs or nasties is Little Knights or Frenchic paint
I moved my piggies out and kept them out for while when I had new carpet put down - a dehumidifier would filter out smells too

What about if stripping and replacing wallpaper?

Hi

Personally, I would rather have them out of way as the stripping steam is building up in the room and the humidity can get pretty high and unpleasant. If you have a stably bonded pair and the space for a temporary cage in another room for a few days, it would make it a lot easier; especially as you want to keep your windows open while you are doing your decorating jobs if possible - both during the stripping and painting.

Any water paints are OK but not recommended unless you really cannot move your piggies; for any oil based paints please move them out until the fumes have disappeared; if necessary in their carrier.
