I would be so grateful for some advice. Peronel constantly wants something from me. She wheeks all day long for food. If I give her a little something extra she still does it so that is useless. Sometimes I give extra hay or a cardboard roll to amuse her. I try to pick her up and she runs away. I will catch her and have her with me but when I put her back the whole thing starts again. Is she bored? Is she hungry? I do not know what to do to make her happy. When she starts wheeking she sets the others off and they start looking at me for food! I want her to be happy but I do not really know what to do. I would love some advice.

There's a good thread about a similar situation on the guinealynx forums somewhere, although I haven't had time to find it -- sorry.

The short answer, according to the consensus in that thread, is that she's somehow convinced herself that she can get you to entertain her constantly. Ignoring her will probably retrain her, eventually.

(I assume your piggies have hay all the time, so she's not hungry.)

Yes they do have hay all the time. I do ignore her but I feel bad. Thank you for replying.

Can't think of anything that would help but hopefully you'll find something on Guinea Lynx. Maybe if you just go up to her and talk to her so she knows you're not ignoring her but you won't always be on hand to pick her up and give her a cuddle whenever she demands it, although I don't know how I'd resist if mine were demanding cuddles! :(|)

My piggy Nutty is very similar. He wants attention all the time. No one dares go into the living room and out again without talking to him! (Even my Dad!)

If we go out he squeaks really loudly at us when we get back and acts like we've been gone for months instead of just a few hours.

I can't stop feeling guilty so he just gets completely spoilt. He's worse now we have two new piggies and makes you feel bad if he can smell them on you!

I don't know what to recommend really but any advice you get I may try to follow too!

I try to pick her up and she runs away so I do not think that is the case. Thank you though.
