I've just noticed that one of Dennis's eyes is cloudy. I'll be phoning the vet first thing in the morning and getting him an appointment as soon as I can tomorrow. It wasn't cloudy at 10.30 this morning when I put him in the run on the grass so it's happened at some point today. I can't take him to the emergency vet as I it's nearly bedtime and I may have just polished off the last of the wine box:beer:(only a couple of glasses) but I refuse to drive after drinking even the smallest amount of an alcoholic beverage. :dri:

So do I Gemma. He is still bimbling around doing his normal piggy stuff so is acting just the same. :) Betsy still loves him and he still loves Betsy so that is the main thing. :luv: I'll let you know what the vet says.

Fingers crossed he just needs some eye drops :)

Aww Dennis! Fancy getting a bad eye when Mummy is on the wine! Bad timing! Hope it fixes itself by the morning and Betsy has loved you better xx

Good news and bad news. Good news is Dennis has an appointment with the vet. Bad news is they are fully booked up til tomorrow morning. I did explain it was an emergency but could only get him in tomorrow at 9.25 as this was the first available appointment that the vet had.:(

Edited to add: Have made him an appointment at another vet for 11am this morning as his eye looks a bit worse than yesterday. As its an eye I feel I don't need to see a piggy savvy vet.

Update on Dennis

He has a bad conjunctivitis and dry eye. The vet gave him isathal eye ointment twice a day. I'm going back on Thursday morning at 9.15 and seeing another vet who is studying opthamology and she will have a look at it to see how it's clearing up.

Thanks. I'm so glad I decided to take him to another vet. I think if I had left it another 24 hours we would have been looking at an eye removal job. It's not been 24 hours yet since I noticed it so hopefully the eye has been saved.

Poor Dennis.
It's frightening how quickly these things can happen.

Hope the treatment works quickly.

Just an idea in case something like this happens again - give up wine and drink strong coffee instead :D

I told you before I only drink water and wine!

Get well soon Dennis. Peanut sends lots of get well vibes too, he knows how Dennis feels. His eye cleared up very quickly with the drops.

Poor Dennis. I am sending lots of vibes for a speedy recovery xx Edward had conjunctivitis once and his eye did look worse before it looked better but it did clear up with the drops

His eye is looking better already. Its not so cloudy looking or as bloodshot either. The Isathal is obviously working.
Aww poor Christian, speedy recovery little man. hope your eye is back to normal soon.
xx

Don't worry I couldn't remember your name in the pub in Salisbury and I hadn't even had a drink!
