Last night at cuddle time as usual Dennis climbed up my body. Usually he sits quite happily either on my boobs or my shoulder. However this time he tried lifting my chin up with his nose! I immediately told him 'NO', put him on my lap I'm top piggy not him! Has anyone else experienced this? How do I go about showing him what he is doing is unacceptable behaviour?

Hmm... Maia, our top pig, likes resting/sleeping on my shoulder, all curled up under my chin. I never interpreted it as dominance behavior though (I wonder if I should have?), I think it's just that she likes it under my chin. Could it be that Dennis just wanted to snuggle there?

Nope it was not a snuggle thing I'm used to that it was a definite upwards pressure of his nose under my chin! Naughty boy!

Nope he is number 4 of 5 which is why I was so surprised at his behaviour! The hierarchy is Velvet, Betsy, Christian, Dennis and Meg.

I'm a little late but, I think you could just lift his nose up with your own as it shows in the settling in thread. My piggy Peanut always does that to me I just never saw it as dominance. :hmm:

Haha cheeky young man! A few of my pigs have tried that on me and I've just responded by lifting their chin with my nose instead which works well.

If left unchecked they will run riot on you like they do with my mum, she just accepts it. Iggy is so naughty and often nips at her if she displeases him like trying to remove his little brown "eggs" :))

Them piggies are naughty and sometimes Like a challenge.
My late Big Boar Pedro was known to try and open a wood internal door with his head. Strange sight seeing a small piggie attempt to open a object which prob weights 1000 times more than him and so big. :lol!:
Bless Him. x

Mine don't dare with me but they do with my daughter and hubby - they also power groom, I will happily lift a nose or snuffle an ear and they seem ok with that (athough I was trying to work out of Binky was actually a pedigree last night and she was having none of the chin lifting).
