Good evening everyone.
I've not been on here in a while and hAve since gained two guinea pigs and lost another guinea pig.
My concern this evening is regarding my cuddly boy Oscar. I noticed he had lost a significant anount of weight on 16th August and so I took him to the vets. Vet said it might be his teeth but they weren't too bad, so to try him on metacam for a bit. He picked up and put some weight on so I rang the vets back and was told to continue on metacam and see how he was after a couple more days.
Well Oscar dropped some more weight so I took him back to the vets. It was recommended that he have his teeth filed as they were pinching his tongue and when I picked him up, I was advised that he might be slow at eating for a few days.
Well I have continued to soak his pellets so there is an option for soft and hard ones in his cage and he is eating some of them and he is eating most of his vegetables in the evenings (he picks out the lettuce, green beans and sometimes cucumber- oh and he likes his blueberries).
I have been weighing him daily to keep track of his weight and he is still losing weight. He was now dropped to 870g from 920g on his initial vet visit.
Any advice and guidance would be grate fully received and I am sorry about how long this post is.
