oliver whos my neutered male... hes about 2.5-3 years old...
and today i saw him eating cucmber and all of a sudden it looked like he choked on some and did these over exagerated mouth movements and all the food came back out....
are we thinking this is dental...?

i'll be making an appointment with simon in northhampton...(good dental vet) to get his teeth looked at... :)

Has he had dental issue's before? :)

My Henry will choke on food and bring it back up and not touch it, he had his teeth checked and were fine I'm still a little baffled to this day why he does it :{

Hope Oliver is ok x

not that I'm aware of... but hes a rescue pig so obviously his history is a bit vague....
I'm sure he probably hasnt had a history of it... it was ever so odd to watch...

I know Fred developed a dental issue at 3 years old - good idea to get it checked.

i was thinking that it could be becuase hes getting on a bit... :)
just wondering if anyone else had any thoughts really.... i was always intending to take him to the vets regardless... :)
its just nothing ive ever spotted before...@)

Simon is at a veterinary conference this coming week, but will be back in work from Monday 27th.

It may just be that he choked and that's why the food came back out, but it does seem a bit odd that it just came back out of his mouth. Also he may be choking because the food is getting stuck due to overgrown teeth. Definitely worth getting Simon to have a look at him.

oh no...
thanks for that bab....
what has pretty much confirmed in my head that its probably dental is the fact that hes not eaten carrot or celery over the last 2 days... and hes stayed on stuff like cucumber and lettuce...
i havent seen him eating pellets... but if I'm honest with you between 6 piggies they still dont even finish off a bowl of pellets... so its very rare i see them eating the pellets...:)
