Dental Surgery In The Morning

please wish my boy junior luck he goes in for dental surgery to cut his back cheek teeth as his tongue is trapped between them, my nerves are shattered thinking about it....this is the first dental pig ive had to deal with and don't know what to expect x
 
Fingers firmly crossed!

Please make sure that you get some metacam (i.e. painkiller. Ask how soon after the GA he can have some) and also have everything ready ready to hand feed, as he won't be eating on his own straight away, likely for some time. He may likely need another round of filing until the teeth are working properly again. Please weigh him daily for the time being to make sure that he is picking up as he's not been able to eat with those teeth.

Oh dear, that sound serious. I hope his surgery is a success. I have a dental boy but his problems are minor & easily solved with a monthly clip. But I do panic every time he goes in so do sympathise with your worry. If his tongue is trapped does this mean he has not been eating?

Yep we have Metacam here in his medicine box already is he going to need syringe fed as well still? x

No he cant eat poor wee thing he has been getting syringe fed recovery food for the past 3 days with some organic purree baby food in it for a little flavour and grass he just managed that as well . He has been get sooo upset and frustrated as to why he cant pick anything up x I even panic when my other half cuts their name haha
 
well that's Junior and Harley at the vets I'm a nervous wreck now lol its so quiet without them I'm lost......I'm gonna keep busy so I don't worry myself stupid I'm rearrange their c and c cage for them coming home :hug:
 
The vet just called that's my boy awake and having a look around trying to figure out where he is and he is eating a bit of grass just now :yahoo: that's my boy go Junior! :lol!: she cut his back cheek teeth and his front incisors were slightly overgrown so she trimmed them as well but apart from that he has nothing else wrong with him ive to go pick him and Harley up at 2pm and I cant wait :nod: x
 
I tend to grate my knuckles too, hope it helps though. Is he eating anything? have you tried softened pellets?

He has turned away from the grated veg I don't blame him i'll try the softened pellets then what do I for that, it doesn't involve the grater does it I don't think my knuckles could take it lol :lol!:
