My 5 year old piggie had a dental on monday then seen by vet tuesday who said teeth were fine now was still not eating by friday I was syringing food so took to another vets for second opinion to be told teeth still long and had to go see a specialist 1 1/2 hr drive away as couldn't chew
He had xray his tongue was trapped and needed another dental he stayed in over night and I recieved a call to say he cannot close his mouth now
I am syringing critical care feed on anti inflammatory pain relief and ranitatadine
Will his jaw close and will he be able to eat again
I'm so worried he also has a small stone behind bladder and a blocked suliver gland

Are you able to get to the cat and rabbit clinic in Northampton? Simon maddock is the best vet for dentals, a lot of the time he can do them conscious and also him and his wife Kim are brilliant with any piggy problems. You'd be in safe hands there x

He had the dental yesterday and freed his tongue he cant close his jaw now to eat and has thickening of the jaw and teeth growing up towards eye his teeth are short now vet said she was happy for him to go home but I'm so worried xx

If I was you I'd definitely book him in at the cat and rabbit clinic if you can.A lot of vets aren't experienced with dentals x

He looks so sad hes hiding face and breathing a little fast he has just had his medication and a feed and hated it not himself at all 😢 not sure if the cats will be open tomorrow ? Xx

I can also add to the chorus: Please ring in on Monday 8 am to get their emergency slot!

All the best!

Yes, please ring, if anyone can sort out your piggie it’s Simon or Kim Maddock. We take our piggies there, they are marvellous at sorting out dental problems, they are so experienced, don’t waste your time with other vets when you have dental problems x

Aw no, I am so sorry you have lost him, sending hugs you did everything you could
Sleep tight little man x
