I’m going to be rearranging my C&C cage in a 5 weeks. I have two guinea pigs and 20 grids. I’d like to put in a loft but not sure if I should. It has to be at least a 2x4 on the bottom. Anyone want to help with ideas for how I could arrange it?

will you be needing the grids for flooring? Or is it 20 wall panels in theory? The bigger space to run around in, the better! I think the piggies would rather have a longer "racecourse" than have an upstairs too!
I have a little loft on mine and whilst they do run up and down the ramp sometimes, they both spend most of their time running around in the bigger space downstairs.

I don’t need grids on the floor and a 2x2 loft would take 7 grids.

Separately, I’ve been looking at ideas of how to make them if I need one

One final question! How will you be cleaning the cage? When I first put my grids together I did a big loft and then realised to clean the far corner underneath I had to disassemble to cage every time - a real nightmare!

I wouldn't recommend a 2x2 loft - really awkward to clean under. I think your piggies would like the huge one floor space best. And you can get in with them!

I did think a loft might make it difficult to clean the cage. And I often find myself sitting in their cage with them!

The "L" shape one will definitely be easier to clean and you'll see some great zoomies as they charge from one end to the other!
