Sorry, this is in the wrong place, i know it should be in diet but I'm pretty desperate as I'm going out shortly to get veg.

What are good veggies to feed outdoor piggies (please dont slate me for this, my parents wont allow them in the house) in this weather?

I heard corn on the cob is good for weight gain/keeping warm in winter. Its out of season now though and i dont think the frozen ones are any good for them.

Can i also feed dry porridge oats? They seem to like these, but wont eat them when they have water on. Is this safe to feed? If so how often?

Any other foods that will be good for them to keep their weight/gain a bit would be great.

Thanks.

ETA: Their notmal diet is 2 scoops (poached egg container) of excel nuggets on a morning and a good mix of veg on an evening plus loads of baled hay and some excel herbage.

you sound like your doing ok at the mo any way mine have some in now but i have changed there diet still eating same as they were when out side green beans cucumber carrots broc cauli pepper loads of hay and nuggets

Yes, but mine cant come inside and theyre not spring chickens any more so I'm really worried about them.

Ive dont everything i can to keep them warm, but I'm just wondering if theres anything i can feed to put some weight on them. Theyve always been quite small guineas, so i dont want them to loose any more weight, they dont winter very well :(

I am not experienced with outdorr piggies but I think unlimited hay has been mentioned somewhere on here.

Porridge oats is good - I use just water but suppose you could use goats milk.
Or even just put some crushed dried oats in a dish.
Corn on the cob is good too but not too often
Barley rings

Weigh them weekly just to keep a check on their weight.
Make sure their hutch is crammed full of hay and things they can snuggle in

I thought dairy produce (i.e. the milk) was a major NO for guinea pigs?

I thought this too (and have never given my guinea pigs milk) but some people on here do - especially goats milk and bread to pups

I dont think ill need to feed them it with milk anyway. They will eat porridge oats on their own, its when its moist that they dont like it. Ive even mixed it all up with herbs and they will only eat it if its dry. rolleyes

lol after reading this i did not know you could give piggies porridge oats have just give some to mine basil seems to be eating it wont it get stuck in there throat with being small . how often can you give it them sorry to go of the subject
