Our dessert piggies, (Tira-)Misu, Gelato and Mini Roll are recently bereaved. They lost their wonderful boar, Parkin after a sudden illness this week.

Today is the first day all pigs have gained weight since he passed- which is a big win. Especially as we're on a veg pause until their poos are less squishy, and we have two older ladies with health conditions.

The ladies are more frequently out and about, munching hay. Mini Roll is starting to rumble at Gelato- which is such a deep rumble compared with Parkin's quiet higher pitched rumble. It's a little surprising and funny to hear such a deep noise from her.

They are having their usual sow tiffs, but otherwise they are happy with each others company.

I'm so glad they are working things out without their boar distractions. As much as I would love to give another boar a home in the future- I don't think Misu will cope with another street such as a bond.

I'm very sorry that you have lost your lovely boar. The sows usually need a bit of time to adjust to life without a boar. But if the bonds are strong, they will adjust.
My girls usually became more quiet without male presence.

Rest easy at the bridge handsome Parkin 🌈

Thank you.

I think they do have good bonds. Mini Roll is full of mischief, but she is very good at checking on her friends- dishing out wanted and unwanted pig kisses amongst her rumbles and chasing.

Parkin won't be resting at the bridge- he's getting all the zooms and popcorns in and practicing his hip sways. Perhaps he's meeting Misu's first friend, Gato and sharing a big pile of hay.

I’m sad to read that Parkin has gone to RB🌈
What a lovely herd you had and have
It’s good the girls are adjusting and maintaining their weight and they have each other
Take care of you as you adjust - in time you will be comforted having had Parkn in your life ❤️
Popcorn freely at RB as Mummy slave says reunited and causing mischief with Gato
