Hi,

I just have a couple of questions about Dettol Laundry Sanitiser.

1. Does it leave a smell after wash?

2. Do I still need to wash my liners on 60 degrees? It says you can wash on 30 but I would like some input from people who actually use the product.

I'm considering buying it as I wash my liners on 60 and I've had three that have shrunk about an inch, I'm also asking because my Mum has said she will make me some but we need to know if she needs to make it bigger for shrinkage, I've seen a site say they make there's four inches bigger to allow for shrinkage.

I don't use it, but q 2 I would say keep it at 60 degrees.

No unfortunately I don't. I just use normal fleece. x

I used to use it all the time. I just washed the fleece on 30 and all was fine. I don't believe washing it at 60 is gunna get it any cleaner at all when your using the detol laundry cleanser.

But I just remember saying someone say that the bacteria is deep within the fleece, so you cannot tell if it has been thoroughly washed x

I don't have liners, I use fleece and towel and incontinence underlay separately to allow for the shrinkage. I prefer to wash at 60 C because I don't think laundry additives really prevent a build-up of bacteria and I don't want to load the bedding with unnecessary chemicals.

Detol is a gentle antibacterial that kills 99.9% bacteria at low temp washes. I liked it. Only reason I stopped using it was cause I was swapping all my stuff to c.f.

But tbh, Ive also never washed the pigs stuff at 60 anyway, lol, unless they're total mingin or I have a sick pig or a post op.

I still wash at the highest temperature possible to get rid of any possible fungal.

@helen, I'm washing them at 60 the now because of their problemos because I can't use the detol now.
But generally I just wash everything at 30 with washing powder.

I wash their stuff constantly, but it costs a fortune to do boil washes all the time I've been told, so I avoid it and stick to 30 for most of the time when all is well.

I meant to ask you Helen, should I be chucking their wooden huts out? I just bought them and they cost me£25 there's no way you can decontaminate wood is there?

I did use fleece and mattress protectors but I found it hard work, so switched to liners.

Hmmm lol, well I'll speak to my Mum and ask her to make them slightly bigger.

Ideally yes, nut I appreciate they cost a lot of money, so you could try soaking them in F10.
