I have a stairgate (child safety gate) on my door, for the protection of the pigs and to keep the twins out. It is not easy to open, but Olivia (my 3 year old sister) has figured it out.

Yesterday, I found her stood in the pigs cage, filling up the food bowls with dry food. I gave her a stern telling off about letting herself into my room and getting in the piggie cages.

This afternoon, she let herself in and apparently decided to clean the piggies out. Having moved two large toys (bunny-size bendy logs, and a plastic step/stool) before deciding against pulling the fleece up, she had got the bottle of disinfectant out and chosen to clean...Dexter!

Stupid pig that he is, he let her spray him (his back was soaked), and then he let her use a kitchen towel to try and dry him off. And he was just sat eating hay, letting her do that to him! I don't know who I'm more annoyed with!

So Dexie has had an unexpected bath today (real one I mean, as well as Olivia's cleaning attempts). I'm going to have to rearrange my room somehow so I can close my door, seeing that the stairgate alone is not enough to keep her out. The sooner I get a tall set of shelves, the better. Then I can keep everything well out of little peoples reach.

Oh no! I was picturing Olivia and Dexter as I was reading it! :))

Good luck with the feng shui (think that is right) to keep everyone safe!

This has really made me smile.....but poor dexter, he must be a very patient piggy, I am sure she was only trying to help xx

i know....i was picturing the whole scenario in my head....he was just hungry...she wasnt doing too much to bother him so why stop....lol
Poor Piggie!

He loves attention, and Olivia knows Dexter is the one to stroke if she wants to pet any of them by herself. But for the silly pig to let her spray disinfectant all over him and rub him down with a kitchen towel and just sit there letting her do that to him...it's madness!

I was wondering more about what Dexter was thinking, rather than Olivia. I completely get Livie's line of thinking though. 3 year olds tend to take things literally, and she does know I "clean the piggies" every few days. :))

That is so cute :)) I can just imagine Dexter not taking a blind bit of notice....you may need a lock on your bedroom door!

Aww bless them both :))
At least she wasn't hurting them and kinda knows right from wrong, very good for a 3 year old.
