My beautiful boy, where do I begin.

You were a little 4 month old when you and Popcorn moved in and took over. You soon found your confidence and your place in my heart.

You were a handful as a teenager but so full of character and not afraid to tell Popcorn that you thought you were in charge even though he was….or was he….!?

Nail and hair clipping time was, ahem, fun! You soon realised that I was bribing you to sit still and weren’t going to have any of it, a few nips and I learnt you really did think you were in charge of everything! You loved your food and time on the grass in the sunshine.

You may not have been the loudest piggy in the shed in the last few years (Hugo most certainly takes that title) but you definitely had such a character and something very special about you.

You passed away with me and Popcorn by your side. I hope you felt the love and I hope I did enough for you in the last 24 hours of your sudden illness.

It has been an absolute pleasure caring for you for the past 6 years. You have brought such joy to me and you will be greatly missed.

Lovely tribute to a gorgeous boy. What an amazing coat he had and that lovely cheeky face! You definitely did all you could for him and more, from the first to the last day of his life with you and I’m sure he knew that.
 
I am so very sorry that Dexter has made his way to the rainbow bridge 😞 He was a beautiful boy who had a lovely life with you and Popcorn and it was clear how much he was loved (((hugs))) Sleep tight Dexter xx

What a beautiful tribute @Piggies&buns to your beautiful boy. He lived a life filled with love and your tribute bright tears to my eyes. Please don’t doubt the care you gave him at the end. It was exemplary as always but it’s only human to doubt ourselves. Try to remember him as he was at his finest rather than in his final hours. Huge hugs to you. Fly high Dexter 🌈
 
What a wonderful tribute to a much loved and much missed special character. Dexter obviously had that little extra that allowed him to nestle very, very deep in your heart during some happy years and dedicated care at the end.

Please remember that doubting yourself at this stage is down to our human mind wiring and not because you have missed a trick; the trodden path is always clear in hindsight while we have to actually navigate a maze blindfolded, never knowing what is behind the next corner when we make our difficult decisions that come with old age and the end of a life. You have done all the right things, in fact.

Look after yourself and Popcorn.

I am sure that Dexter is alreadt busy telling his instructor at the Bridge how to best use his new angel wings so he can come back and watch out for Popcorn and you. :)
 
I’m so so sorry to hear that Dexter went over the rainbow. I am sure that the care you gave him from when he joined you and in his final days was more than any piggy could ask for.

A beautiful tribute to what sounds like a characterful piggy. Take care of yourself and Popcorn.
