Diabetes?

so one of my guinea pigs has diabetes. Anyone have any information about diabetes in guinea pigs I should know? Thanks!:)
 
Its like a minefield , what is it you want to know?
Tell me what type and what protocols you are following ?

Basicaly your pig needs to have a limit put on anything hi in carbohidrates ,

Are you using an insulin meater?
If l am not mistaken there is a very good peice in the Guinea Pig Magazin :)

Hi it is a bit hazy as it was a wile ago since i did some reading on the suject , but if
You tell me all the relevent things ,ie treatments you are using, tests that have been done , l will try and tell you what l know

There is a keeper named Ceren (i think) that has l diabetik pig , l do know the pigs name is Bella.
And Bella biabetis has been susesfuly contoled for quite a wile now

First thing - is it definitely diabetes? In the past it has been known that vets have misdiagnosed the disease. Assuming that this is a true case of diabetes, it should be able to be controlled with insulin and diet - much like in humans. What has the vet told you?
 
To true, the very nature of the condition makes a proper diagnosis difficult
