Diabetic Pigs

Finny has been in the wars of late, a nasty eye injury then what we thought was mites - turns out to be fungal then to top it all he has suddenly developed cataracts in both eyes. The vet is almost certain its caused by diabetes but without checking Finny's sugar levels he cant be completely sure. So for the time that is what I'm going with. I know the best diet is lots of fibre and little sugar but is there anything else I should be doing. Thanks

I think a lot of it is about the fresh food he has. I know Helen at @The Potteries Guinea Pig Rescue had a diabetic piggy who was diet controlled if I remember rightly.
