My female pig Moodle, has had problems for a while shes been though antibiotics and other drugs to find out why she had redish pee and some occasional blood specs on the bedding. Shes been X-ray'ed which ruled out stones and had her wee sent to a lab and the verdict was sludge.

Anyhow I have bee told to give her Potassium Citrate (0.25ml) only one liquid I could get is one called Cymalon. Also been told to change some of her eating habits been told to buy a different nugget food, I was using Excel but I have been told to stop that as it contains Lucerne which is Alfalfa, so will be looking for a nugget food that doesn't contain that. Also been told to not give her spinage, sprouts or celery (various veg in that family to). So what I am asking is what vegetables do I give I know Romain lettace is fine as is Cucumber but I need more ideas they are abit picky when I tried fruit. Also has anyone given their pigs Potassium Citrate? If so did you water it down?

hiyah, i gave potassium citrate to my boy when he had a bladder stone, i watered it down, and i dont know if this will help but i got it from the pharmacy within a chemist shop.

Have you looked at the diet thread on here? it will be under the health section i think, it is very informative with this type of thing.

Hope your piggy recovers, sludge (i think) is more positive than a stone!

have a look at this thread:
