About a week ago I noticed that my piggy has funky poop, it started as diarrhea and now although kind of solid, it is still softer than usual and it has an unusual shape. I have taken her to the vet on Wednesday and she got vitamin shots and the vet prescribed antibiotics as a preventive measure ( she thought that the poop situation is the result of some kind of disbalance and not something too serious)
I gave her antibiotics for 2 days and on Saturday I accidentally lost the small tablet and was unable to obtain it again over the weekend ( I will definitely go to the vet tomorrow again)
Although she is still eating and drinking ( obviously much less and she is chewing much slower ) she is losing weight steadily (19.2.2020. -750 g, 1.3.2020.- 655 g) so I stepped in with syringe feeding today (pellets soaked in warm water) but when I started with the syringe feeding I felt a huge cyst/ abscess on her right cheek
Please give me any sort of advice until I take her to the vet tomorrow

This is what the poop looks like now

Also, the vet told me to give her newborn probiotics, so I am doing that as well

Hi!

Please continue with the antibiotic and persist with the syringe feeding; the more often, the less you can get into your piggy. If the pain from the jaw/dental root abscess is not yet too bad to kill any appetite you can offer a little fresh grass or lettuce cut into thin stripes.

The soft poos/diarrhea is the result of your piggy stopping to eat hay because of the toothache from hell; it is not a gut problem in itself but obviously a secondary complication resulting from a dietary imbalance, which is not at all uncommon in guinea pigs with developing dental problems.
There is no harm at all in giving probiotics, though to help bolster the gut while on antibiotics; especially when it is already impacted.

Could you please tell us which country or UK county you are located in so we could direct you to a dental savvy vet if possible. Thank you!

Thank you very much! How serious are abscesses? I got really frightened when I felt it, is it possible to cure it with antibiotics?
And, I am from Croatia

Sorry!

Ideally a large abscess needs to be lanced and stitched open for regular flushing with a mild antiseptic like saline solution and draining to allow it to heal from the inside out. Once abscesses have become large swellings they are often too strong to be brought under control by a very strong antibiotic like zithromax (azithromycin); especially once they have grown a pouch already.
