Adult Guinea Pig
I did stick this in my dosage question but it will probably not be seen so figured id make a new thread just in case (sorry mods if that wasnt the right move, just concerned for little Shellybean, do feel free to merge them if needed!)
Basically Shelly was given Baytril Monday for a UTI. Her first dose she didnt get probiotics after because I'm useless and fell asleep after being up worrying most of the night, the other 2 doses she has had fibreplex an hour after. She has pretty bad diarrhoea now, although shes not passing much. She was eating really well yesterday but in the last couple of hours her appetite has decreased.
We called the vets to ask about swapping antibiotics and they will fit her in somewhere tomorrow if we call them first thing as theres no actual appointments available but she needs to be seen.
Shes had about 8ml of critical care, fibreplex, bio lapis in her water and a seperate water as ive seen her drinking, shes also had a little Pro C in the critical care. Shes eating little amounts by herself...dandelion leaves, grass, little bit of carrot and bran. She doesnt seem dehydrated (tried the skin tent thing and it snaps straight back) and her eyes are really bright. Shes walking about fine, shows no signs of bloating, her tummy is nice and soft and doesnt seem in pain when massaged.
I'm still rather concerned though, it's not like her at all to not eat voluntarily, if ever there was a pig id put money on never going off food, it was Shelly
Any advice to help me get her through the night until the vet can see her is most appreciated!
