Deb H
Adult Guinea Pig
Mr Digby has diarrhoea and has lost some weight. I will get him a vet appointment tomorrow but would appreciate some advice. He has been off veg for a couple of days because of soft poos.
Rooting for him Deb

Did his diarrhoea clear up?
I would have expected the vet to advice to cut veggies out too if his poops are soft?
I'm glad he's feeling better. My piggy broke his front tooth on Sunday and has been having soft poops since. I however wouldn't be able to get to a vet till Friday, my rodentologist told me to syringe food and water, although he seems to be drinking on his own, I wonder if the teeth problem can affect the digestive system since it has on your piggy too... or lack of pellets because they're hard to eat? He sill eats fruit and veg but I will cut it down to barely anything to see if it helps him and continue syringing.
I've been having trouble lately getting decent hay, perhaps Diggers was a fussy boy (caramel noms all the time and never stops, in fact I think she even noms when she sleeps!). I have been to the dreaded P@H this evening to get some Timothy Hay and some herby forage to tempt him when he comes home tomorrow.
He's not doing brilliantly I'm afraid. It seems he has a lax mandibula joint and that is making it painful to grind down hay and his teeth. He's staying in the vet for another night but the vet said the prognosis is not good.
I've emaild Debbie to see if she/simon have any ideas
I'm gutted

I will check your email when I get back from vets. Is there any way we could get him here?
Definitely worth getting Simon to see him. We have turned around so many piggies where previous vets haven't been able to help. Do you want to phone me later this evening? X
